Introduction

You are the survivor of bypass heart surgery.  Your physician has instructed you to research topics associated with coronary artery disease (coronary atherosclerosis) and congestive heart failure to help in prevention of reoccurrence and education of the diseases.

Task

At your next check-up your physician will be expecting you to answer the following questions:

1. What should your ideal blood pressure be?

2. What is the difference between LDL and HDL cholesterol? Which is better?

3. How can you lower your cholesterol levels?

4. What are three tips to successful exercise?

5. What is your exercise heart rate range?

6. How long should you exercise each day? How many days per week?

7. What is heart failure?

8. What medications are you taking?

9. What does each medication do?

10. What procedure did you have done when you had your heart attack?

Your physician has also asked you to make a handout that he/she can give to patients who are at high risk for cardiac health problems. The handout should contain at least 20 health related facts that you feel are pertinent to the prevention of a heart attack, CAD and CHF.
