Participant Benefits What do I expect as a participant? · getting an academic summer experience based at the University of Idaho campus with instruction in math, science, language arts and much more
· exploring science and math education and careers through various activities and field trips throughout the year
· receiving supplemental academic support in math and science throughout the academic year in coordination with the respective math and science teachers · general support to pursue your career goals and be successful in life
Does Upward Bound Math Science cost? NO. The Upward Bound Math Science program is not only free to all participants, but provides a weekly stipend to the participants in the summer program and selected activities.
Do I need to arrange for transport? Upward Bound Math Science will arrange for transport to the various activities and summer program.
Am I eligible for Upward Bound Math Science? To be eligible for admission, applicants must meet at least meet the following criteria: · High School student from one of the following schools
· US citizen or resident alien · Eligibility through Income or first-college generation · Be in 9th, 10th or 11th grade and between 13 and 19 years old. · Be recommended by a TRIO professional (ETS/UB/other) or High School Counselor. · Show an interest in math or science careers. |
