The University of Idaho and the Northwest Association of Special Programs present a three-day, compliance-based project management training based on the federal site review process. This Talent Search training will provide:
The training begins with a general session followed by breakout sessions that cover the following areas:
These breakout sessions are modeled to follow a two-day federal site review process. Participants will evaluate a sample project for compliance with the documents that govern the Talent Search program: legislation, regulations, OMB circulars, grant award notification, and policy statements. The breakout sessions are followed by a question and answer session where participants can ask the faculty to address specific topics or problems not addressed in the breakout sessions. Please review the Training Agenda for an idea of how the training is structured. This training is USED approved and TRIO project funds may be used to pay for training related expenses. Breakfast and lunch will be provided each day of the training to help you keep your expenses to a minimum. Ensure your place in the training by registering today!
This use of the federal site review process reinforces best practices in project management. The training also uses the areas covered in a federal site review to provide participants with a project-specific Policy Manual Template. Results from recent audits and site reviews have emphasized the importance and need for each project to have a policy manual and this training is the perfect way to either implement or improve an existing policy manual for your project.
Our Training Facilitators are all trained peer review monitors as well as program professionals. Led by Michelle LeSourd, a former Program Officer for the Department of Education and Regional Representative in Regions VIII and X, these facilitators have the knowledge and expertise to guide you through the ins and outs of running a compliant project. Please check back soon for additional information about our training facilitators.
