Kerry Parker
Kerry was born in St. Paul, Minnesota. She trained
at Minnesota Dance Theatre, the Milwaukee Ballet School, the School of
American Ballet and Pacific Northwest Ballet. She has studied ballet
with Frank Bourman, Pat Hon, David Howard, Zvi Gotheiner, Christine
Wright, Jackie Villamil, Diane Cartier and Luba Gulyeva. She has
studied contemporary/modern dance with Loyce Houlton, David Voss and
Jeremy Nelson. She has also studied yoga with Peter Rizzo and
Gyrotonics with Jurgen Bamberger.
Kerry has performed
professionally with Minnesota Dance Theatre, Pacific Northwest Ballet,
the Vienna State Opera Ballet, Avilla/Weeks Dance and Ballet of the
Dolls. Her classical repertoire includes roles in Coppelia, Giselle,
Firebird, Sleeping Beauty, Nutcracker, Don Quixote, Swan Lake, La Fille Mal Gardee, Les Sylphides, Romeo and Juliet, and Paquita. Her
Balanchine repertory includes Symphony in C, A Midsummer Night’s Dream,
Serenade, The Four Temperments, Stars and Strips, and Chaconne. Kerry
has danced in the works of Sir Kenneth Macmillan, Yuri Grigorovich and
Rudolph Nureyev, as well as having first hand experience with such
artists as Loyce Houlton, Kent Stowell, Lisa de Ribere, Clark Tippet and
Glen Tetley.
Kerry teaches all levels of
ballet at the University of Idaho. She also teaches ballet for
Festival Dance.
