Please Note:  The Audition Registration Form must be sent prior to in-person auditions.  Students can mail, fax, or e-mail the completed form.  For video/DVD auditions, the Audition Registration Form should be mailed with the video/DVD.  Students must be admitted to the University of Idaho prior to the audition (in-person or video).

3) VIDEO TAPE AUDITION:

·         Students may submit a videotape or DVD for auditions in lieu of a live audition.

·         Video tapes must be post-marked not later than August 1, 2008 for incoming students.

·         All video auditions should include a ballet barre, a locomotor work across the floor in any dance form, and a jazz, modern, or other dance form combinations.  If you have not studied ballet, include a warm-up sequence in either modern or jazz.

·         In order for the faculty to evaluate video auditions with accuracy, we ask that you not wear loose clothing or costumes.  Ideally, barre or warm-up exercises and across the floor patterns should be video taped from the side (profile view), with center patterns from the front.  Please call or e-mail us if you have any questions.

·         If you would like your video returned, please include a self-addressed, stamped video mailer.

REQUIRED ESSAY

On a separate piece of paper, please write 1-2 page essay on want to be a dance major.  The essay should be typed and single-spaced.
